Dog Days of Summer

Happy Anniversary to our Daughter and Son-in-law on their 11th Wedding Anniversary!
Lola Grace, our Shih-Poo, wishes them the same. I can tell by the dog-speak of her tail.
I'm talented in that way. We read each other well my Lola and I.

Today Lola and I played catch outside in the backyard where she merrily chased her pint size blue ball for a good long time, only stopping to rest when her little pink tongue was panting for the cooling taste of water. It was there, in a bowl, but today La Lola wanted curb service and simply lay there panting in the shade waiting like royalty until I brought her outdoor bowl to within lapping distance!
Refreshed and dripping sparkling water droplets  from her face, she brought the ball and lay it at my feet waiting for me to bend down to retrieve it but tease that she is,  Lola snatched it back a time or two before finally deigning to let me have the ball to throw for her pleasure.
Oh, she had a merry time chasing it, leaping and flying over the lush green lawn and burying her face in the grass to grab the ball. Sometimes Lola ran so fast she rolled head over tail to catch it. She almost managed to catch it in mid air a time or two. Clever puppy!
Every once in a while she does lose sight of the ball and then runs willy nilly throughout the yard searching for it. Sometimes, our Lola-kinz finds it lickety split but . . . well, at other times,  she has absolutely no clue whatsoever to where it landed!  I will admit to lovingly calling her 'Sherlock' when we have to nudge her in the right direction.
Right now she is lying fast asleep beneath my chair as I type this post. Most likely dreaming of playing catch with her little blue ball.
